Abundance Strategies Manager

Abundance Strategies is a full-service development consulting firm dedicated to providing strategic guidance to progressive organizations to support their growth and sustainability. Our work focuses on creating  comprehensive development plans, establishing fundraising systems and processes, implementing new approaches and campaigns, prospecting, and positioning organizations for optimal fundraising outcomes. 

The Manager is an essential full-time member of our team supporting client engagements and helping to  ensure progress towards goals. Managers work on multiple engagements facilitating different activities including grants, events, prospecting, and more. The Manager works closely with the leadership of Abundance Strategies to support client engagements and the overall operation. We pride ourselves on excellent work and having fun.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Client Management (80%) 

  • Track, monitor, and facilitate client engagements and the associated activities. 
  • Proactively work to set agendas for client calls and ensure follow-up items from meetings are distributed and completed. 
  • Assist in the drafting of development plans and produce other development materials such as case statements, email communications, and grant proposals for clients as needed. 
  • Develop and build out client prospect lists and other list building activities.  
  • Conduct extensive research on prospective funding opportunities for clients including foundations,  corporations, and individual donors; and draft prospective donor profiles and briefings.
  • Project manage virtual and in-person client events including communications, registration tracking, and fundraising plans.  
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Utilize various CRM databases and track workflow. 
  • Ensure that project tasks are completed in a timely manner through careful management of client  activities and managing up to senior team members.
  • Manage summer Fundraising Fellows’ and interns’ client work as needed.
  • Assist with knowledge management and tracking of key tools and materials.

Organizational Management (20%) 

  • Provide guidance and training to interns and new staff. 
  • Oversee some operational activities including IT, legal, and facilities. 
  • Support fellowship process (including interviewing, workflow, and trainings). 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED:

A successful candidate will be excited to work in a fast-paced work environment, proficiently handling multiple tasks simultaneously.  

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • 2-4 years of fundraising experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects successfully and coordinate competing deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and dependable. 
  • Strong virtual communication and collaboration: Efficiency and comfort with MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom, and Canva
  • Experience working with CRM Databases (i.e. Salesforce, Blackbaud, Raisers Edge) and Wealth Research tools such as iWave or Foundation Directory
  • Grace under pressure.
  • Sense of humor.
  • Strong commitment to the progressive movement. 

LOCATED IN: Abundance Strategies currently offers hybrid work, with staff working from the office Tuesday – Thursday. All staff are required to be vaccinated.  

SALARY: $65,000- $80,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.
