Ola Mohamed joined Abundance Strategies in January 2024 as a Program Associate. She will provide research and support to current and new clients.
Ola graduated from the University of Virginia, with a B.A. in Government. Throughout her undergraduate career, she was engaged with the university, the Charlottesville community, and the UVA student body, through various cultural and political organizations. She was a Communications Intern with Resilience Education and began fundraising as a Student Fundraiser for UVA’s Cavalier Connect.
Born and raised in Khartoum, Sudan, Ola is fluent in Arabic and relocated to northern Virginia in 2011. Her life experiences shaped her passion for travel and new cultures.
In her free time, Ola enjoys revisiting her favorite literary works, from the novels of Tayeb Salih to the essays of bell hooks, and the sonnets of Pablo Neruda. Ola also loves trying new foods and exploring DC’s vibrant art and music scene.
Since 2005, Rebecca (Becca) has been a fundraiser and donor advisor for several progressive organizations. For the past five years, Becca has worked alongside Kathryn and the team at what is now Abundance Strategies. While Becca enjoys working with a broad range of our clients, Becca has a particular passion for protecting our democracy and ensuring all Americans have equitable access to political participation.
Previously, she was the Development Director at America Votes, the coordination hub of the progressive community. Prior to that, she was the Director of Partner Services at the Democracy Alliance where she was responsible for executing the strategic plan to grow and expand the Alliance Partnership and advised DA Partners on their philanthropic giving. Becca spent five years in the Development Department at EMILY’s List where she created and launched EMpower, EMILY’s List first ever membership program for young professionals. Becca also served as the Major Gifts Manager where she was responsible for overseeing fundraising staff and managing the principals’ call time and travel. As a member of the events team, she helped plan annual conferences, convention events, and the 20th and 25th anniversary celebrations at EMILY’s List.
Becca’s first foray into politics came in the office of Senator Carl Levin (D-Mich) and she spent time on electoral campaigns in Sioux Falls, SD and Denver, CO before settling in Washington in 2005. A political campaign enthusiast, Becca occasionally escapes DC to work on local, state and national campaigns and has been on races in Michigan, California, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and Texas.
A proud Detroit native, Becca received her B.A. from Denison University with a double major in Political Science and Communication. Becca and husband David are proud parents of three young daughters, Milly, Lulu and Lisel.
Emily Gayton joined Abundance Strategies in April 2022.
Emily holds a BS in journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University in Athens, OH. Throughout her undergraduate career, she valued experiential learning leading her to take on internships at organizations such as the Thirst Project and the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, and study away opportunities to Ireland and Washington DC where she first discovered her love for the DMV.
Despite her midwestern college experience, Emily is a western New York native. In her free time, she enjoys trying new recipes, going to concerts, and road tripping to visit loved ones.
Annabel Snidow joined Abundance Strategies in September 2023 as a Project Associate.
Annabel grew up in Denver, CO., and attended Northeastern University. She graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Political Science and received her MS in Security & Resilience Studies a year later. She taught a comprehensive health education curriculum to Boston Public School students for five years and was nominated to be a Women Who Empower Ambassador. She also spent semesters studying in Tokyo and Berlin.
During college, she worked at Aids Action Committee supporting their houseless clients navigate affordable housing and helping run their needle and injection materials exchange program. She also worked at athenahealth at the peak of COVID to support providers.
Since graduating, she worked at a bio-security PAC that helped elect some of the most progressive new members of Congress and as a fellow at Bloomberg Beta.
Annabel loves stinky cheese, celebrity memoirs, and bonsai trees.
Reed Timoner is a Program Director at Abundance Strategies. He joined the team in September 2021 as a Project Manager. In his time at Abundance, Reed has worked with progressive non-profits, advocacy organizations, and PACs on systems and project management, individual and institutional major donor fundraising, prospect research, and event planning.
During the 2020 cycle, Reed was the National Finance Assistant for Mark Kelly’s successful U.S. Senate campaign, coordinating in-person and virtual fundraising events and meetings. After the campaign, Reed fundraised for Democratic Representatives on the Hill before joining the Abundance team.
Reed graduated from William & Mary with a major in Government and a minor in American Studies. Reed lives in Washington, DC and was born and raised in northern Virginia, but he spends as much time as he can in northern Michigan.
Alana Petett joined the Abundance Strategies team in April of 2022 as a Project Manager.
Prior to Abundance, Alana worked as a Digital Advertising Strategist at Middle Seat Digital. There she developed impactful digital campaigns for progressive clients — including MoveOn, AFL-CIO, Indivisible, and Common Defense — helping to raise more than $1.2 million dollars during the 2020 election cycle. Before Middle Seat, Alana ran the intern program at EMILY’s List, and coordinated social justice educational programming at the Lower Eastside Girls Club of New York.
Alana holds a B.A. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Barnard College of Columbia University. During her time at Barnard, Alana interned at Planned Parenthood and got her start in fundraising as a student caller for the Columbia University Annual Fund. She was also involved in student organizing for an increased national minimum wage (Fight for $15) and served for two years as the President of Take Back the Night, Columbia’s oldest anti-sexual violence organization.
A proud native of the DMV, Alana grew up in southern Maryland. In her free time, she enjoys exploring D.C. with her loved ones, traveling, testing out new recipes, and reading Black feminist literature.
Kathryn Greenberg is the Principal of Abundance Strategies, previously KG Consulting, a firm dedicated to providing strategic fundraising guidance. She has worked with dozens of the most exciting, diverse and high impact organizations in the progressive movement on issues from climate change to economic policy to journalism to democracy reform. They have helped their clients raise millions through major gifts, foundation relations, events, and other fundraising programs.
Kathryn is a seasoned professional who brings 25 years of development experience to every client. Primary areas of focus include strategic development planning, organizational fundraising processes, project management, public-private partnerships, and positioning the organization for optimal fundraising outcomes.
Kathryn was most recently the Senior Vice President at the Democracy Alliance where she oversaw the strategy to grow the membership, managed all membership efforts and activities, and stewarded over $25M per year in resources for progressive organizations. Prior to her work at the Democracy Alliance, Kathryn was the Director of Development and External Affairs at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and two children.
Jennifer Williams is a Development professional with 18 years of fundraising and political experience on political campaigns and for several progressive advocacy organizations.
Prior to joining Abundance Strategies, she was the Sr. Deputy Director of Development- Individual Giving at Color Of Change, the nation’s largest online racial justice organization.
Prior to joining Color Of Change, Jennifer was the National Director of Development at Every Voice where she used her experience on political campaigns and other organizations to build an individual donor program and developed an entirely new departmental structure and a strong operational plan to support the overall fundraising for the organization.
Jennifer also ran the federal PAC’s at both Sierra Club and Planned Parenthood Action Fund, and before that she spent 4 years at EMILY’s List on the Development Team. During her time there she was promoted to the Acting Director of Major Gifts, provided high-level support to the major gifts fundraisers across the country, managed a team in-house, trained campaign fundraisers, helped to set up fundraising shops for campaigns on the ground, as well as planned and executed national events.
Jennifer received her B.A. from Drake University. She is a St. Louis, MO native and currently resides in the Petworth neighborhood of Washington, DC.
Jennifer Linn joined Abundance Strategies in 2019 to manage GiveGreen, which offers donors a powerful, strategic way to work together as a community to elect environmental champions and accelerate action on climate change. It is a collaborative effort between three of the environmental movement’s largest and most influential organizations: LCV Victory Fund, NextGen America, and NRDC Action Fund PAC. Jennifer is responsible for overseeing the day to day management of the program, and works with the partner organizations to make sure strategic political and fundraising goals are met. She ensures the GiveGreen website is functional and current, and supports the communications, marketing and outreach efforts of the partner organizations.
Jennifer brings with her more than a decade of campaign experience, working on dozens of successful candidate, ballot initiative and independent expenditure campaigns across the country in over 30 states. Most recently, Jennifer worked to fix our broken campaign finance system, both as the deputy political director at End Citizens United, where she helped elect campaign finance reform champions to the U.S. House, and as National Campaigns Director at Every Voice, where she coordinated campaigns at the state and local level to pass small donor public financing laws to lift up the voices of everyday people.
Jennifer is a proud Minnesota native and an avid nature lover, seeking every opportunity to hike, camp, or visit her home state’s beloved Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a B.A. in political science. She resides in Hyattsville with her husband, step-children, dog and three cats.
